Self-Regulating heating cables are unique in that they have the ability to vary their power ouput along the entire length of the circuit in response to ambient temperature changes. As the temperature decreases the cable will respond by increasing power to compensate until the temperature drop has been arrested. The cable will decrease it's power output when it senses the process temperature reaching it's setpoint which is regulated by a thermostat. When the setpoint is attained both the cable and process temperatures are balanced. Self-Regulating heating cables are ideally suited for freeze protection and process temperature applications.
