Constant wattage heater cables provide constant power output throughout the entire length of the heat trace circuit. Unlike self-regulating heater cables, constant wattage cables are not susceptible to inrush currents. The cable will deliver the same amount of power along the entire length no matter how cold the ambient temperature. Constant wattage cables can also yield longer circuit lengths than self-regulating cables, especially at 480V for which there is no self-regulating cable on the market. For all practical means, constant wattage heater cables are used in conjunction with a control device, such as a thermostat or control panel. Our constant wattage heater cables are made entirely from FEP Teflon for maximum durability and offer exceptional dielectric strength. Our constant wattage cables have a maximum exposure temperature of 400°F (de-energized) which offers the same exposure capabilities of more expensive medium-temperature self-regulating cables. Constant wattage cables also offer greater return-on-investment by lasting up to 4X as long as self-regulating cables.
