Constant Wattage heater cables provide constant power output throughout the entire length of the heat trace circuit. Constant Wattage heater cables are helpful when determining power output at alternate voltages and for determining circuit amperage. Unlike Self-Regulating heater cables, Constant Wattage cables are not suceptible to inrush current when operating in colder-than-normal temperatures. For example, the cable will deliver the same amount of power along the entire length no matter how cold the ambient air temperature or pipe temperature is. Constant Wattage cables can also yield longer circuit lengths than self-regulating cables. For all practical means, constant wattage heater cables are used in conjunction with a control device, such as a thermostat or control panel (distribution panel). Our Constant Wattage heater cables are made entirely from Teflon for maximum durability and offer exceptional dielectric strength. Our FEP & FEP F-LT series constant wattage heater cables have a maximum exposure temperature of 400°F when de-energized and our PFA series cables have a maximum exposure temperature of 500°F when de-energized. |
